Maurice Owens | Partner MOwens@OwensHervey.com Maurice Owens graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1990 with a degree in engineering. He spent the next six years in the Air Force, working as an aerospace engineer in weapons acquisition and operational testing, obtaining the rank of Captain. In 1999, Mr. Owens graduated from Yale Law School. Following graduation, Mr. Owens clerked for United States District Judge Jerry Buchmeyer, then the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Mr. Owens then honed his litigation skills as a litigation associate at the international law firms of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and Hunton & Williams LLP. During that tenure, Mr. Owens gained experience in complex commercial litigation, constitutional litigation, as well as general litigation and appeals in federal courts, state courts, and arbitrations. Mr. Owens continues this same trial practice at Owens Hervey, finding particular interest in solving complicated legal issues with novel strategies and theories. |
